We believe all students with special learning needs can meet with academic success.
We believe "differentiated instruction is “responsive” teaching rather than “one-size-fits-all” teaching."
Saint Stanislaus Parish School established a Learning Resource Program in 1986 to address the educational needs of students.
Learning Resource students have average to above average intelligence, but may struggle with:
Word decoding skills in reading Oral and written language comprehension Oral and written expression Auditory processing Math skills Handwriting ability Organizational skills
The Learning Resource teachers employ cooperative learning techniques, partner activities, hands on activities, and individual small group instruction. A multi-sensory approach to language arts and mathematics is also employed to respond to the individual strengths and weaknesses of each student.
